What Have I Learned Thus Far?
Interpret Statement
Students with mental illnesses need a way to communicate about their needs to their teachers because I learned they often don't, fearing the teacher's reaction due to the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Wanderlust
I have learned that students don’t feel comfortable sharing their issues for multiple reasons including; lack of safe space, the “I’m fine mentality” and etc. They feel like teachers may report them if they say something that they interpret as concerning.
